Sights, excursions and beaches
The top attraction in Oludeniz is of course the beach and the “Blue Lagoon”. But there is also a lot to do away from a relaxing beach day in the region. You can see the ruins of 2,000 year old cities, visit nature parks and try different sports.
Inspirations for activities in Ölüdeniz summarized in a nutshell:
- Paragliding from Babadag Mountain back to Oludeniz beach
- In Fethiye / Ölüdeniz starts the 510 kilometer long Lycian long distance trail towards Antalya
- In Fethiye there are ancient Lycian rock tombs
- The ruins of Myra and the tomb of Nicholas of Myra in Demre
UNSECO World Heritage Site Xanthos with Letoon, the federal sanctuary of the Lycian Confederation - Excursion to the “ghost town” Kayaköy. One after the Turkish-Greek War (1922/23) abandoned city
- Saklikent gorge with a 300 meter deep gorge, along with the ancient ruins of Tlos
- Water-World Aqua Park or the Grand Ucel Aqua Park with dozens of slides
- Day trip to the 20-kilometer long Patara sandy beach
- Old town of Kas with the fishing port and a trip to the 3 kilometer offshore Greek island of Megisti
- Dalyan with the ancient city of Kaunos, Karic rock tombs and the Iztuzu stand in a nature park with the spawning grounds of the sea turtle species “Caretta Caretta”
- Ride on a Turkish motor sailing ship (gulet) along the coast
- Excursion to a sunken city off the coast of Kekova island
- Day trip to the thermal springs of Pamukkale and the ruins of Hierapolis
- Saklikent National Park
